HL Tiger Turret to Hull Wiring

Post by earpm1 »

Guys
Got hold of a HL Tiger upper hull and turret off Ebay. Why? Well it was relatively cheap, I work on the principle that you can never have enough spares, and I thought it would give me an insight into some of the internal gubbings (technical term) before I strip my Tiger down for painting. The main issue I have is that whilst HL have provided a nice plug-in wiring connecter between the lower and upper hulls so that they can be easily seperated, they didn't think to do the same between the upper hull and turret. Is it possible to get such a doohicky (another technical term) for the 3 wires (2 black & 1 red) that feed up to the BB gun and is it wise to even consider such a mod?

Cheers
Martin

Replace the little board with pin connectors or some other connector, through the useless board in the trash.Their are wiring schematics with individual wiring colors/numbers provided. Why they use that bridge board is beyond me.If you need help on the wiring just ask,but it's really easy with the schematics drawing.cheers Blake Image Image

Well that's the Tiger done, just need to do my KV1. Used a couple of Expo Tamiya style mini battery connectors. Worked a treat, but god my soldering is shocking. Must get some practice in.

Flux is the key, then the solder just runs onto the wire.Best connection by far, also cap connectors are good for wires that need to be able to separate.Blake
