Hi folks!

Post by PAUL LOXLEY »

I must be starting my second childhood because I'm hooked on tanks!
My first experience was not a good one - I bought a Panther from Nitrotek that packed up after 3 weeks and I eventually gave up trying to get any sort of after sales service from them. However, with much guidance from Steve at Welshdragonmodels - and lots of guidance from the posts here - I discovered it was actually fun fixing the thing and I really enjoyed re-painting it.

The penny dropped when I saw a post somewhere that summarised what owning a Heng tank was about - play with it; break it; fix it; play with it........

And then I got a Tiger 1 for a song (it had been put in the wrong catagory on e-bay) and have stripped it down ready to start rebuilding and modding. (I'm gonna' be looking for some help soon!!!!)

Two questions:-
Do we "play" with our tanks or is there a better 'technical term?' :P
and whatever we call it - do we tell friends, family and workmates we're doing it? ;)

Whatever we call it - I'm enjoying it! Cheers folks

Hello Paul,I read your post and just thought poor fellow. But had you came here first we could have saved you some grief. As for the Tiger you may want to look on Steve's site at the Asiatam Hull. The best tank is one with the strongest foundation.I purchased mine from Steve and have had no problem's.The technical term is Peter Pan Syndrome,I will never grow up,followed by the famous justifying statement but honey I have to be accurate or I meant to tell you about those parts honey.Of course with two son's I can always say it's for them,it does not work but I can still say it.Enjoy your Tiger, and use the pantiger for spare parts, that's all it's good for.Test bed for mods.Cheers Blake
