Tamiya recoil with Heng Long Flash??

Post by percy1510 »

Hi everyone. Looking for some help from one of you technical guru's on here. I have fitted a Tamiya recoil to my mattoro Kingtiger running RX18 board. Everything is working fine. Now I have got one of the Heng Long High intensity flash units to add. I have plugged the big plug from the flash unit into the relevant socket on the rx 18, this leaves me with the smaller 2 wire plug that I think normally plugs into the Heng Long recoil if fitted. So my question to you lot is this, Is there anywhere to attatch these 2 remaining wires so that on firing the main gun by pushing the left transmitter stick foreward I get the flash and the recoil together??

I have removed the small plug from the end of these 2 wires and and at the moment if i touch the 2 wires together I get flash/gun sound and tank recoil so it may be just a case of adding a micro switch somewhere so that the recoiling barrel closes the switch and sets everything off.

Please help me!! you tank guru's :D

all the best

Hi Keith
I dont have the extra 2 wires on the 8pin turrett connector. I think that they are the connections from the Heng Long recoil which I dont have

cheers

Ahhhh, sorry Glyn, i see what you mean now, i was going to try this on my KT, but opted for the Heng Long recoil system in the end :/ but i think there is a mod you can do to the TX to get the result you want, i cant find the link but it was on RCU.

Looks promising, you will have to let us know how it turns out, unless someone else knows another method ???

Did the full fire mod from rc-comand and it kinda works. When the left transmitter stick up ypu get muzzle flash, gun sound, barrell recoil and tank recoil. Only problem is that the flash ,gun sound and tank recoil go off about 3 times in the time it takes the Tamiya recoil to go thru one cycle

Think my next best option is to use a microswitch set up so that the recoiling barrell makes the connection of the wires from the flash unit that set off the flash. These 2 wires also set off the tank recoil and gun sound so that if I push the left stick foreward I will get a barrell recoil that will set of all other functions (hopefully :( )

Any further sugestions on this one guys??

just install a diode on the white triger wire on the tamiya recoil and you problem is solved

Great . I will add a diode tonight. As I am not to great at electronics will it matter which way round the diode goes I.e. Which way the silver strip is facing.
Thanks for the advice
