it was pretty daunting, I opened the box and thought WTF give me a tank any day to build,[ICE]monkey wrote:looking good brel, only just found this post, it looks quite a daunting kit

it went together quite easily and I thought that wiring up the lights to the MFU would be hard, but the lights are all numbered and the diagram for the wiring is easy to follow.

looks a lot better, a job well done
Re: scania r620 build
thanks mate, it was a real pain to cut the ramp deck up, because I have not got access to a band saw and had to cut it by hand with a hacksaw, then file the cut edges by hand to get them the same width and the zigzag cut straight
Re: scania r620 build
I have replace the dog bone drive prop shaft with the front prop shaft from a CR - 01 crawler it has Universal joints and is much stronger,
I am looking for a very short prop shaft with UJ's to go between the two drive axles.
the one in the picture is the unused rear CR-01 rear prop shaftI am looking for a very short prop shaft with UJ's to go between the two drive axles.
Re: scania r620 build
nice truck mate,i have had and built a few tamiya 3 speed pick up trucks which have simular gearboxes and they are superb.as for uj drive shaft a ta01/02 etc drive looks very simular size but only one end is uj and the other is dogbone but thats half more strengh than the standard dogbone.and the other drive shaft you have bought,a modified cc01 rear prop shaft would look a little more scale imoa
If your not first your last!
Re: scania r620 build
thanks for the compliment on my truck mate
I have after having a look at Dave's 4*8 scania at the Muckleburgh meet decided to copy his idea on the front grill mesh, by going to halfords and getting a pack of aluminium mesh that is used in car body repairs to replace the mesh in the front grill on my truck
before new mesh fitted

after new mesh fitted
