HL antennae length?

Post by wibblywobbly »

Does anyone know the total length that the antennae should be on an HL tank? I have shortened the external hard wire on two of mine, and the range is adversely affected. The tanks become unresponsive within 10-15 feet unless I point the transmitter vertically.

So, can I add a longer wire inside the hull to make up for what I have lost on the outside?

Cheers

hi Rob G

total antenna length for 27Mhz should be 26" from board to tip as it's unshielded wire
