Hi Guys,
Very nearly finished weathering my Tiger 1, images were posted last week and if you remember the Tiger was in its 'as bought' livery which was a pale green with a black wash.
Take a look now, its my first attempt at doing this, hope I haven't overdone it too much. All comments welcome as usual.

Doodle...
thats more like it ..but and you knew there was a but coming
add some silver or run a pencil around some of the wheel rims ,because they were steel rims and i think and it,s only my opinion , theres a tad too much black at the back ,remember the rear shrouds allow the smoke to go upwards , if however it,s suppose to be dirt then just brown it up a bit ,, but i must say it does look a lot better...............

you can have a go at me next week when i post the sherman thread........

Re: Weathered Tiger 1
Thank you for the constructive advice, I also wasn't sure how to weather the deck either. I quite liked the original colour but it had to be toned down. So I just did a carbon wash over it, but should I have done it the same colour as the rest? Or would it be too much? Or does it have a bit of contrast as it is now? I'm not sure.
I agree about the wheels by the way, I still have a few bits to do on it yet, including the wheels. I'm waiting for my Vallejo mud and sand pigments to arrive. This is the first time I've used pigments and they are great fun to use.

Great work, I love dirty tanks. The only time they have that 'Lexus' look was when they left the factory.

Hey Fleshy,
These pigments and terminology is all new to me mate, whilst I can visualize what a pin wash probably is, how do you actually do one?

A pin wash is..either use migs already mixed type or paint with a ratio of 10 to 1(ten thinners to one of paint),use a small brush and allow the paint to wash around what your painting and if too much then you can take away by adding more thinners /and or use a tissue to obsorb the extra paint as i said before practise on something before it not hard and if you dont like then it can be removed altogether......
