Tiger 1 Driver's Visor Mod

Post by torpedochief »

Hey All,

I recently received a Tiger 1 Visor Mod from TAKZONE.

It consists of two cast resin parts. Not a bad job althought you will want to true up the back of the parts with a file. The exterior surfaces are a bit bubbly and needed a few passes with fine grit sandpaper and some scraping with the hobby knife.

I removed the stock visor. The bottom is not attached, so it comes out with no problem. Once it was cut free a file was used to remove any rough spots.

I cut a square of clear LEXAN and attacheditto the back of the cast armor. I then applied a strip of drafting tape to the front in order to protect the clear LEXAN from paint.

Next I applied Ca in small dots alongthe edges, and on the bottom "feet" and installed the part.

Then the visor was installed. Be careful that you align the visor in the center of the block groves.

Since this will be a late TIGER I was not worried about any gaps on the sides as the ZIM will cover that. If this were an early version then a small bit of putty would be needed to fill in very small gaps.

Enjoy All!

Don
