I have at last finished the Sherman....ish
Having stripped the tank, fitted a Tamiya battle system to the turret and completed a fresh coat of Drab Olive paint I left the tank to completely dry before re attaching the tools and fittings. It looked the nuts.....
Removing the tools prior to painting had caused the small fixing pins to break off so I decided to use superglue to re attach them. I placed the tool in position and turned the hull over and held the tool in place with my finger whilst applying a minute drop of glue to the tiny hole in the hull behind the tool. Bad move.....real bad move.
I successfuly attached all the tools ......and my hand ....to the hull. I tried all sorts to remove the hand but to no avail. I was reduced to using the propper glue remover which removes paint as well....Aaaaargh.
After spending 2 weeks spraying the hull, I spent 1 hour cleaning my skin and glue from the rear hatches, 1/4 hour rubbing it down then 1/2 hour repainting the whole ruddy tank. You wouldnt believe it but it looks as good as before.
There's got to me a moral there somewhere but I'll be buggered if I'll look for it.
I need to test the battle system but I will have to wait till the next meet.....
Now to start the Panther..or the scorpion.....or the PZ3.... or the T72.
Mike

Re: supergled
I managed to glue my thumb and forefinger together a few weeks ago. After soaking my fingers in anything I could find I had to resort to cutting them apart with a mounted razor blade.

Re: supergled
oh yes been there. I could become the worlds most succesful burglar just based upon the fact that i no longer have any fingerprints!

Re: supergled
Err no you wouldnt mate. Not if your attempts at hurdling my daughters baby gate this weekend are anything to go by! Serioulsy guys, If i'd had the video camera to hand I'd be knee deep in new tanks by now thanks to the £££ Harry Hill would've paid for that little displayRocketman wrote:oh yes been there. Re: supergled
I thought it was something funny about my DNA, as superglue always sticks to me better than any of my models.
It's good to know I'm not alone.
