My email

Post by wibblywobbly »

Virgin have introduced a new email system and in the process completely cocked it up. There is nothing on their website to indicate any problems, but their forum reveals all. In short, until I can get this sorted (and I have been trying for 3 days) I can't send or receive emails.

I am fuming, as are many others. They never announced that they were going to do this, and never considered people like me who have their own url and use email forwarding, they also changed the email default 'name' to something that no one knows!

At this moment in time I am clueless as to how this is going to pan out...I am running out of ideas!!

Already did that, just damned lucky I have that facility available to me, the vast majority of their customers wouldn't have a clue about that sort of thing.

What makes things worse for most is that the Virgin forum has a load of conflicting messages about the new system, settings etc. You can bet your bottom dollar that many will have tried one setting, then another, then another, and then forgotten what they have changed and what they haven't. By that point there is no way on earth that they are ever going to get back to the start point, and no way of setting their Outlook etc up so that it could process emails even if Virgin sorted things out at their end.

At that point even Virgin can't email their own customers with solutions, so these people have potentially lost their email service unless Virgin write to them..which won't help as they won't know which email application anyone is using.

It is a cock-up of biblical proportions.
