Tank trip switch question

Post by tankman »

A question for the educated out there . Just been trawling the net again and found Maplins are selling mini circuit breakers ranged from 1.0A to 10A. If one of these units were fitted between the battery positive and the board would it in theory prevent the board from cooking ?. They work by tripping at a preset Amperage then automaticaly reset after a short delay. If these are not a good idea what about an in line fuse similar to a car radio type ? . Feel free to shoot me down in flames if I am talking through my nether regions as my electrical knowledge is rough at best.  Can't even take credit for the general idea as I saw somthing on another forum along a similar vein. Thanks in advance

There's only one way to find out but I would use normal fuses as they are probably half the price of the circuit breaker then when you have found the right amperage switch
They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

Cost is £1.29 to £1.49 each depending on what Ampage you want. All the best for now
