Asiatam hull with late wheels, Asiatam tracks, Mato brass gears, metal storage boxes and various detail parts. In other words, everything below the fenders is solid metal. B|

wow, thats a monster you got.

Well, I might go in the same direction. Just opened my KV1 and saw that the right gearbox was loose, all the plastic arms was broken. This can be fixed with brass tupes in the same length, but.... this might make me invest in the metal hull and then put a elmod in also.

Are you running yous with the standard rx18 board pcsguy88?

where did you get the metal stowage boxes? I guess you are referring to the large boxes on the fender sides

All my electronics are stock for the time being and function well enough for me. I might upgrade to Tamiya if I ever get a chance to join a battle, but for backyard, HL wins.

I had to use both Welsh Dragon and Tankzone to get all 3 storage boxes. Costly, but I had to have them. I also ordered the metal commander's hatch from Tankzone and sure enough, my plastic one broke right after I received it. :)

Over all I am happy with the Asiatam hull. It's better and worse than the PzIII hull, the worse being the weak torsion bar for the rear. I compensated by gluing a spring in the swingarm stopper and now she sits level.

I can't wait until the contents of my storage boxes are finished and installed. @)

I just got one of these tanks and was wondering if anyone can help me. How do I get the top off? I removed the screws on the bottom and the top won't budge. Thanks for the help!!!
best wishes,

There is a small black screw just in front of the sprockets - remove these and the top will come off.

Sorry, have not been around this past week. See that screw hole in the picture with the open box lid? Plastic ones just unscrew from the bottom and have 2 unglued tabs in the rear. I applaud HL for their recent models being built for aftermarket upgrades. The removable air grates on the rear deck are especially nice and easily replaced with etched ones.

Hello pcsguy88,the Asiatam lower hull looks very well built and highly detailed, but also a bit expensive.Would you say it is well worth the money? And what would you consider the strong points and the weak points of the KV-L lower hull? Cheers Blake
