STUG III Asiatam Heng long
Re: STUG III Asiatam Heng long
Thanks RCCommand! Are you 'RCCommand' on the net? If so , I could not have done it without your products!
I have to say that with base coats of dark metallic, gray, olive, and brown...and then a light spray of semi gloss ivory white followed by careful application of testors rust, this model has a very real appearance. The white on dark is just a great modelling combo for this tank. although, it seemed strange to paint the whole tank in detail and then spray the white. As I said above, the white (just rustoleum can from hardware store) covers your work fast and dries fast, so you have to do the hard wipe quickly. It is hard to go wrong if you want the dirty winter cammo look.
Cheers.

Hi Xrad . No thats very good mate . I hope you wipped all the snow of before you took it into the house
. Is the Asiatam tub more sealed ie waterproof on this . I have the Tiger one and that would need sealing . Im unsure on my tracks at the mo they are the metal early ones (not impact tho) . As this is a later Stug III Im guesing it should have the cleated tracks . But im sure looking at a photo the late Stug III G at Bovington has the tracks like mine . Although it may be the pict ? Im still out of work so I might not get the impact tracks just yet .

Asiatam hull leaks like a sieve. But that is a good thing because it drains as easily as it fills. Nahh, I did not wipe it off. Just put it on a towel on top of Mrs Xrad's running clothes dryer...hmmm worked well until she saw it!

Hi Xrad . I see bet she wasnt to pleased he he , Before I bought my Asiatam Tiger tub I was experimenting with waterproofing the HL tub. I had already added metal swing arms and the brass spigot inserts . I sealed the battery door and removed all the circuit bd mounts inside the tank , water proofed the sides were the swing arms fit , sealed the drive sprockets with a rubber washer . I also added a frontal internal splash guard . It was compleatly waterproof . Although I didnt test it as I replaced it with the Asiatam tub although I didnt intend to run it through water etc. I am going to re use the sealed tub eventualy.

Re: STUG III Asiatam Heng long
I guess waterproofing the main electronics is easier ..and silicone up the main holes in the hull from the inside. Just don't go higer than the motors..
