Hi Ive had a go at making the remote controled MG mount . Ive used brass sheet for the shields , styrene for the rest of the mount and a bolt through the middle to hold it onto the tank so it can move .The four bolts to hold the shields to the mount are cut from the front armour pannel of the Stug. Im still experimenting with the height .

Andy, it looks really good and you made it yourself!!

Anyone who does not use fingerpaints (dont ask) on their models is a good modeler in my book.

No Hijack intended, My little side note: Obviously, there are beginners, those who have built for years, and the 'crazies, those guys who have to have every little detail exactly perfectly to scale. For example, Larry Pulka lives two miles from me. He is one of the foremost model shipbuilders in the world. this guy will take two years to do a model and go through a thousand drillbits on each one and well over 50,000 hand made pieces. Unfortunately, we all can't donate this much time in life to the hobby but we all can enjoy it just the same!

Hi Xrad . I guaged the sizes from my schumo MG34 and by looking at the tank were it sits . I have a few good books including the scale drawing book of German late war fighting vehicals . Its not 100% accurate but I thought about the set on the German eBay but Im out of work so have other priorities including spending some on other tank bits you cant make . The ships area very good . I made a wooden sailing boat when I was younger . No way near the quality of this guy . It was hollow . And it was a frame work then ply bent over it . I never fitted RC to it although it can have it . My fathers a model enginer he makes steam traction engines and trains that run as the originals . He also makes clocks at the moment hes making some regulator clocks . And the amount of time involved is incredable . Not only does he make the movment but the cases to. Any way thanks for your coments.

Hi now the fun bit  started the side skirt mounts . Ive attempted this before when I started the scratch built stug and also on my Pz.IV but both are now scrapped. But here we are again having another go. The mount brackets are made from brass sheet cut down in width . The rail will be styrene with styrene triangle hanging brackets . the skirts will be styrene sheet (at the mo ?) with metal mounting hangers . In the pictures everything is just bluetacked on to get the height etc settings and angles correct . Ive got to put the strengthening braces in the rear two brackets yet and bend the hanging rail rear ends .

Hi Xrad, Thanks mate yer thats a good idea  . I bought the Panther G but left that as I thought the site would be flooded with them . I shall do that one later . Ive also just about finished my Pantiger conversion to a Panther Ausf.A . I used a Panther G turret , but with the chin removed . This is along the lines of Gras all choped up . Bring on the Stugs

I have fitted the triangle hanging points to the rail today . The parts are only bluetacked to the tank . Im thinking may be its better to add the zimmerit to the sides before I fit the skirt hanging frame . However i want to do the waffle pattern , the squares with dots inside . Im going to have to make a tool for this or if any one knows of a supplyer of them ? I have also made the loaders hatch so it opens the later war way. Just need the hinges.
