Stug III

Post by andy_01732 »

Thought I would share some in progress and completed pics of my recently finished Stug III. I am rather concerned how addicted I am getting...15 tanks and still want more!

Nice job on the stug. How did you do the roof mounted machine gun as I am thinking of going down that road myself and my main problem would be that part. All the best for now

Alan,
i used the oringanl gun mounted on a plastic collar (I used an old tamiya wheel cover centre) and cut the shield from plasticard.

Hi Andy . Very nice Stug III . There seems to be a few on here now . Ive left my panther G in its box as Ive almost finished my Panther A conversion from the Pantiger but with a G turret modded on it . And I thought every one would be getting the new Panther G so Ive started my Stug III to . But theres plenty of Stug IIIs now all good tho . I see you have scratch built the RC MG mount very nice work , Ive done the same . Can I ask how accurate the bolted blanking plate for the self defence weapon mounting hole is ? Im not critisising your work . Its just ive never seen the bolted blanking plate before . I also like how you have done the skirts . Im just starting scratch building the mounting rails now on my one . Im doing mine with the standard square edges . Ive seen pictures of Stugs with skirts with the bottom edge rounded and it looks good . Very nice Stug III indeed
