Question
Guys, I have purchased from Welshdragon and I am very happy with them. They have an item on their site for sale and I was wondering if anyone here had used them before. It is the drive wheel bearing supports for the HL Tiger 1. I have the Asiatam aluminum hull and a lot of work in this tank making it very heavy at 15lbs. I really want to use these supports but do not know if they will work with the aluminum hull. Anyone know about this or have any install tips?

Re: Question
yes the work very well with the aisatam hull, how do I know, because I have fitted them to my tiger 1
I drilled the hull and tapped the holes to M2.5 to secure the support bearings to the hull with some thread lock on the screws to stop them comming undone, other people have glued them on as well

Re: Question
I also purchased my Asiatam Tiger Hull from Steve@welshdragon I also purchased my T/U 3:1 Gearbox from Steve with no additional support and running @22lb.with Graupnar speed 400 motors, metal sprockets, tracks.and several other mods I have had not running problems. That being said these support were not available a year ago and from what I am reading if you can afford the 24.00 I would suggest using them. They do seem to be out of stock at moment,e-mail Steve and I'm sure he will tell you when the will be back in stock,if you do this mod post some feedback on the install.cheers Blake http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/tank ... -793-p.asp
Re: Question
Hello Brel, seems like a good idea were their any binding issue or alignment problems? I had to drill and tapp one hole in the T/U plate and the supports seem to mount without much play.Just wondering.Do the trans covers remount or not.And which support did you purchase? Thanks Blake http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/tank ... -793-p.asp http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/tank ... -794-p.asp

Re: Question
I did not have much of a problem with the tiger just had to file them down around the outside edge to make the transmission covers fit again and driled and tapped the hull and the one hole in the gearbox side to hold them on securely with two M2,5 screw with a dab of thread lock
there seems to be a lot of leeway in the asiatam and HL hulls around the final drive to the tracks so you may or may not have to file the support bearing cases like I did

Re: Question
Thanks so much for the input.. I was looking at the hull and wondering how they would mount because of the covers. Seeing as it's been done before, I will order them from Steve and give it a go. Then I will finally be able to call this one done.

Re: Question
It will never be finished,we all think were done until the next mod comes out. Post some picture of the support if you get a chance, did you have any problem with the torsion bars being to strong? It was an issue with the early hulls,to high ride height.Just wondering if the newer hulls have the softer rods that were offered as replacements?
