Hi all.
Don't actually have a tank yet, but won an auction yesterday for a Tamiya Pershing in kit form, so looking forward to that arriving, hopefully before xmas. I haven't told the mrs yet... she didn't seem keen on the idea of another toy for some reason. And I'm hoping to avoid awkward questions about the cost.
I'm not a "skilled modeller" and am aware that the Pershing may not be the easiest kit to start with. But I liked the look of it, so that out-weighed reason. I'm reasonably "handy" though, so fingers crossed.
I've been looking over the various tank-related reviews / forums over the last couple of weeks and have been agonising over the choice between HL and Tamiya. I've got a couple of Tamiya RC cars and have had a "knock-off" RC car off ebay, and hated it.. it just wasn't the same build quality. I know people say that these days that HL are very good, but as I haven't seen either a HL or Tamiya tank, had I bought a HL, being the sort of person I am, I would always have wondered how much better a Tamiya would have been...
Anyway, wanted to say Hi, and would much appreciate any advice if (when) I get stuck putting the Pershing together...
