Do Asiatam know something we dont

Post by 971wright »

Hi Guys Just been looking at the Asiatam site ,they have tracks/sprockets and suspension for the Elephant also tracks for the Famo and another halftrack 251.
But why no suspension units for the Sherman or Tracks and sprockets,do they Know something we dont ,I know the makers of the T55 say they are doing an Elephant but they still havnt made the T55 which was suposed to be out last xmas,so if they are expecting an Elephant from them it could be years away,I havnt seen any news about a 1/16 251 halftrack, and the only 1/16 Famo is made of resin so its not sutable for fitting R.C..
Are we missing something ,I cant see there being a profit in making all these for scratch builders there cant be enough of them.
Does anyone know what is comming out soon apart from the Sherman and M 16 .They must be making these for a reason.

Hey Pete, just checked out their site and I agree seems strange to have all these parts and nowhere to go? Checked several other sites and find no new tanks? I'll keep looking around the web, something comes up I'll drop you a line. Blake

Hi Pete

I contacted Hooben around September enquiring about the Elefant they were supposed to be building

The reply was that they weren't aware they were building any tank apart from the T55?

Without trying to be cruel the person who replied to my email English wasn't their first language and I also believe that she was very new to their company.

So if an Elefant is appearing I don't think it will be coming from Hooben.

Rumors says that HL will release a Elephant during spring 2010. There have been a thread about this on a german forum some time ago. Cant remeber where though, as it was about 3-4 month ago
Have also looked at the asiatam Elephant items, and have wondered why they are in the shop so early.

cheers

I read on another web site Hooben are planning to show their Elephant later in the year at a show in Germany. This could be my XMas prezzy for next year already.

i see what you mean guys, would be rather pointless them releasing upgrade stuff for the few scratch builders out their.

If theya re making chains for the Xion models then as there kits are extremely expensive you will be looking at paying Tamiya tank prices for a Famo and Halftrack too rich for my blood im afraid.
