Pershing Track Guards

Post by Andicog »

Started doing a bit on my Pershing, fitted metal tracks and removed track guards, I have seen two different versions of whats left after removing the front ones, one finishing level with the front of the hull (pics 3+4)and the other a little further back (pics 5+6) , before I finish the trimming I wondered if you guys know if any one version is correct ? Thanks. :D

It looks good, and certainly different. :D You also get to see all those lovely return rollers.

From an operational side it'll be easier for anything stuck in the tracks to clear itself.

Cheers,

Looking good mate, ( had a little tear in my eye when I saw it) I like the cut off front guards, looks very mean. I have cut off the the track guards of my pershing I kept back, looks a lot "cleaner" but also kept the full front guards on just for something different. keep the photo's coming Andi........you never know,I may buy it back off you !

I did have the front guards on but decided to go the whole hog and chop them off (I really should not be let loose with my dremel while drinking special brew . . ) It really lifts the look of the Pershing, just have to trim down the vertical peices now to finish and its off to buy some XF62 for this and the Bulldog. Thanks again to Abo, will keep photo's coming :D

Is it a cunning plan . . . . ? Can I smell burning plastic ?
Must admit I have never been that keen on the pershing but its now started to grow on me, looks better without guards, what about stubby 105 mm Howitzer as used in Korea ? Hmmm . . . . . :D

I have one of these sitting on top of the wardrobe, I bought it but never realy liked it. Stupid realy, but I wanted a piece of allied armour and when I got it I thought it was rather ugly so I left it boxed.

This mod has changed the lines and made the tank a lot more pleasing to the eye, plus as someone has already pointed out, a lot less likely to get clogged tracks.

Nice easy mod that I will copy with enthusiasm when the Sherman is complete, the battle system installed, the stug completed and the DBC gear made and installed.....oh poo...I just run out of winter evenings.....

Nice job....Mike

Never fancied the pershing look either but without the track guards it looks a lot better.
