Urban Camouflage
Urban Camouflage
Hi All,
I've read on several forums that some very late war German tanks ( post 1945 ) used a form of what we now call urban camouflage. On modern tanks this is usually a dark base coat oversprayed with a disruptive pattern of black, grey, and white rectangles. After trawling the web for hours I can find no substantive evidence to verify this.
Has anyone got any information, evidence, or even better photo's, that show that this type of camo was actually used?

Re: Urban Camouflage
I have these 2 photos, one is taken after WW2 and the other is a re-paint. I'm not sure if this is urban but I would not have thought it much use as a rural cam scheme.

Hope these might be of use.

Cheers for the info lads.
Pete, I did a search for 'Berlin Camo' and found exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
Looks like I need a few rolls of masking tape tho.

Re: Urban Camouflage
The colours I'm using are panzer grey, medium grey, white, and black. They are going onto a jagdpanther in a very similar pattern to the chieftain in Pete's pic. It's loking quite good so far. Will post some pics later this week.
Cheers

John, you mentioned you had found some pictures searching"berlin camo" do you have a link? I am working on a night fighter version of the Jagdpanther attached to the FGB-Fuhrer Grenadier Brigade,DEC.44.I have found very few photos and if I have a link for your Urban Camo I would know what it should not look like.I have chosen three shades of grey, and flat black no white.Good luck on your build, really look forward to seeing your Jagdpanther. cheers Blake
