Heng Long barrel recoil

Post by rtr »

Hi,I've just converted my HL jagdpanther from BB to IR.Every thing works
ok (many thanks to Forgebear for parts) except that the barrel recoils before
the muzzle flash and tank recoil. Is there any adjustment or alteration that
can be carried out to change it to a more authentic recoil that follows the
flash and tank recoil.

Hi Steve,

I am looking at that myself. Someone has done a mod already but I am not quite sure if the mod is still working after this time as things have gone quiet about it.

If you strip the recoil down, a mod looks simple enough mechanically but for me the wiring is the issue as you need to shift the changeover contact that is fitted on the outside of the recoil moulding. I am not quite sure where to take the flash power and motor drive power from as I think you need to reverse the recoil motor direction.

Mods are ok if the fix is able to work over the lifetime of your model, if not, it works as it is so leave well alone perhaps...even if it is annoying.

Keep in contact on this one cos who knows, one of us might be the hero who sorts it....

Hi The recoil dosnt flash till the barrel has fully recoiled, there is a high voltage flash unit that fits the RX18 but I never seen one used so I dont know if they flash as soon as the left stick is moved ,it is one of the drawbacks of the heng long recoil it should be flash bang recoil but it is bang recoil flash.
