Hi Andy, that infra red lamp mod sounds interesting, although its a bit pricey when i was checking out the add ons i could get. Hopefully there are a lot of tamiya panther accessories out there which look like they are compatible with the heng long...

Hi Nic, Yer I would imagine most of the Tamiya extras will fit . One other thing HL probaly will miss of theres a little wheel that suports the track just under the drive sprocket . The Tamiya ones have it .

Hi Nic , Thats good I didnt know he had them , thanks .Are you sticking with the late war version . I think Im going to make my one as late as possible . The HL G seems to have all the realy late features . Im also considering the Ambush cammo . I need to reaserch that yet as I dont think ive got any picts of a ambush , chined one ? Have you got your HL G yet as Id be intrested to know the track width ? Ive been working on my Panthers cupola today . I have the stock HL one just raised it , made it look as if its cast , added styrene AA rail mount brackets and a brass AA rail oh and the small aiming thingy on the front .

Hi again Andy, got the tank yesterday...straight out the garage before the wife sees it...the tracks look to scale, and i notice that one or two retailers say that the metal tracks for the tamiya will fit the heng long jd, so that means they fit the panther....going to buy tracks and wheels, sprockets and idlers plus stronger springs, jeez she will kill me if she finds out, as i have been pleading poverty the last couple of weeks(i wanted the panther so i avoided the pub last month) ;)

Hi Nic can I ask you if you can measure the width of the tracks . They should be narrower than the HL Tiger / Pantiger ones . There is some were not in the UK were you can buy the correct width late war metal cleated tracks with sprockets and idlers , just cant remember were from . I will get back to you on that . As for upgrades same here . Hide it from your wife he he . i dont have that problem Im divorced . Any help you need just ask me . Ive been doing a lot of research on Panthers for my Ausf.A build from the Pantiger . I compleatly cut it up . So its narrower and longer like Gras one all the tools , jack block come of , got chains on all the retaining pins gone mad on it realy .

Hi Nic, Yer all hatches should open . You can buy the front hatches . On the real Panther G they could be removed so the crew could escape if the barrel was over the hatch. Ive made all the hatches open on my Ausf.A conversion even the rear storage bins .
