Well said John, part of the fun of owning one of these tanks is correction and improvement. I get a real sense of achievement when I've fixed a problem. If these tanks came straight out the box ready to use I'm sure many of us would have lost intrest in them fast. I'm not a great Sherman fan myself but really look forward to seeing some of the builds that I know will start appearing because people can now afford a Sherman that they can experiment on.

i don't understand , if i have picked this up right you don't work for MATO they also said they have disowned you and don't have any Representatives posting on any forums, and on one forum (my gift to you) was removed with the consent of MATO, if i have picked this up wrong i apologize and will remove this post.

I think ( and its only my opinion ) that when Swathdiver first came out with that post on this and other forums " My gift to you " forum members perceptions were, rightly or wrongly ,that SD was working closely with Mato and that they were building into this tank most features that RC tank modelers wanted to see, within its price and reason. The hype increased with the talk of different variants and add on accessories. Now, when it has been released, it seemingly hasn't lived up to all the expectations and some people feel let down, or so it seems. To be fair, to get a clearer picture on what this Sherman is really like, we need more feedback from others who have purchased it. Swathdiver, I forgot to ask, have you purchased one.

I'm getting really confused,I thought swathdiver had one or two from the information and details he was posting about the boogie's that Bubbajoe has so expertly modified. Now someone really needs to clear the air on this story,It started last JAN,by the dates on the original post. And every so often it has been revised with different spec's and models of the Sherman until I was thinking this was a coordinated design between Swathdiver,Murphy who is with Mato? and Mato/TORRO/MATORRO/HENGLONG.What is the real story here,I think people deserve an answer, alot has been implied.Saxondog

Fellas, The original post explains it well. I don't work for, have never worked for Mato, Heng Long, Tamiya etc. I'm a tanker like you who thought the hobby needed a VVSS Sherman. Mato and I teamed up to bring this tank to you, it's my contribution to the RC Tank community.

I didn't intentionally "hype" anything and tried to answer all of your questions to the best of my ability. The tank was delayed for quite some time for various reasons including the downturn in the worldwide economy. Some of the features originally intended for this release had to be postponed in order to still bring it to market. Most of these I knew nothing about until I saw Bubbajoe's tanks and a few days later received mine. Other features that we discussed were never intended for this production run, it was said they would be introduced in other Shermans.

Despite it's perceived and actual warts I think most of you will enjoy this addition to your motor pools and in due time become "Shermanholics" as I have. This tank, this hobby, gets better with your constructive input and support. The most dedicated tanker I know, Murphy, works tirelessly ensuring his new company produces a quality product for your enjoyment.

None taken Oz,

My participation ceased on that forum when some guy named Nev was bickering incessantly with another member. I remember our inboxes being full of their drama and didn't want any part of it. Still a member, I posted the same release info and got an e-mail that it was pulled or something because I was an employee or too closely associated with Mato. I sent a reply with accurate information and never looked back. Someone sent me a screen shot of the statements being made recently, just confirms my good sense to leave years earlier.

Just a quick question Swath, you mentioned the metal upgrade kit for the suspension, will this include the sprocket and idler? Do we have any idea how long? I'd like to use the suspension on a Tamiya Sherman, but id rather wait if the metal one is coming relatively soon.
Cheers,

Rik,

I would imagine that they'll be included but not sure yet. Don't know how long to market either.
