no muzzle flash...help please

Hi folks,

I bought a Stug top and chassis from Forgebear and have made a great little tank for a minimal outlay. However, I have a little problem that I hope someone can help me with.

I have all normal tank movements and sounds. BUT....

I have m/gun sounds and flash off the G button.
I have cannon sound and tank jerk but no barrel flash and recoil off the K button.

I have up/down barrel off the l/hand stick.
I have recoil and flash off the l/hand stick but no cannon "bang".

No matter where I plug the Orange/White 2 pin lead into the RX18 card CH3 (M G fire) socket I don't get bang-recoil-flash.

As this is the first IR spec tank I have owned, I don't know what to expect. Do I need to have the IR gear plugged into the turret in order to get bang-recoil-flash?

I fully expect this to be a problem of my own making so any help would be appreciated.

Also, this RX18 card has nice slow m/gun and a decent tank sound...better that my other one. Do they make 2 cards...1 for US and 1 for Axis tanks???

Sorry folks, no matter what I do I can't seem to attach a small foto file as I used to be able to do.

Assuming that you have the plugs in the correct sockets on the RX18, and the correct plugs in the correct sockets in the upper hull, I would start tracing the wiring around the top hull. I noticed that one of the black wires is loose on mine but haven't figured out where it goes yet.

There is a pic floating about somewhere on the other forum that shows all of the plugs, and what each wire does on each plug...blowed if I can find it right now.

Just in case anyone is wondering, Forgebear isn't selling dodgy parts, these are all parts bin specials etc that he disposes of to people who are aware of possible faults and who are happy to spend time rectifying them.

I am using stock HL components from an IR tank. I bet I am plugging something in the wrong socket....or maybe I am missing a component...

See attached foto of RX18 wires and the 2 wire that I am trying to find a place for.

I assume that an IR tank should have bang,recoil and muzzle flash from 1 transmitter command????

As I have stated, I get recoil and flash only from the left stick, and bang and HL tank jerk from the K button. Maybe that is what I should get.....

Thats it! thanks guys....

I understand that the RX18 can be a bit fragile so I didn't want to go plugging in anywhere. As it happens, there is a problem with the RX18 card. After start up sequence, the tickover lasts about 2 seconds then the left hand tank track moves slowly with the engine now running above idle. It does this without me touching the controls. I will try another RX18 card tomorrow.

I now see what you have all been saying about the recoil being not quite correct. But at last I have another tank effect...wooopeeeeeee.
