Happy first tank day.

Thank you all very much for the responses. I look forward to keeping you all updated on my journey into the hobby. My plans for the KT are going to be some moderate weathering to add a look of realism.

Here's a tip for easy weathering, a product in which I have absolutely no financial interest or connection whatsoever, but one I recommend: JNewboy's "Magic Grime."

I got my first tank, a HL Pershing, about two weeks ago! I've wanted this since I was a kid back in the 60s! Bought my first airbrush too. I've already removed the tank's side dust guards and filled all those holes for gear. Next is to texture the turret & glacis, then paint and weather! I haven't painted a model vehicle since... let's see... since George Bush SENIOR was president. I have done some 120mm display figures (brushed oils) and various historical wargame figures, so I'm not a painting novice. Actually, I do have a few hundred 1/285th scale tanks (WWII and Arab-Israeli) painted a couple of decades ago.
