I recommend KeithT's great advice about avoiding airbrushing problems. In my experience, he is exactly correct. Besides, his Churchill proves that he's right.

Thanks Painless
Good luck with your Churchill project. Look forward to seeing the finished article :)
I only have a Crusader to keep the Churchill company, but look forward to adding a Matilda once I can compare the Coolbank with the Tongde version.

If you still have the Coolbank Crusader, can you post a picture of it?

I'd like to see what you did with it.

Here's mine.

Hi michaelwhittmann
Your Crusader looks really good. The build up of "muddy sand" on the wheels looks very similar to a contemporary photo I saw of a Crusader; N Africa 1942 or 43
I didn't do much with mine except for modifying the additional fuel tank hose, which looked more like conventional metal fuel line in period photos than the fat rubber hose provided. I also touched up the bits the should have been black & had been left base colour, sealed the headlamps so light only shone through the lenses and added some magnetic to hatches that annoyingly did not fully close. I may, if I can find some decals, add some details and paint & weather it. There's a guy on YT whose done a nice job on his detailing

I posted a picture on the introduce yourself but here it is again

Good Afternoon!
Keith, When you have the time, could I get you to post a Pic of the Daughter Board in your Crusader Turret? Focus in on the Connection where the Searchlight is soldered on, please. I think that there are a couple of different types of Turret Daughter Board in use by Coolbank which is why I am making this somewhat odd request. Thanks in Advance and as always,
regards,
Painless

Keith!
Thanks for posting this Pic! You definitely have the more modern\different Turret Daughter Board in your Ceusader, unlike mine. I am not sure what funtionality I will lose if I replace mine with the newer version available at Motion RC. Same with the Elevation Servo which plugs into the Turret Board. I may look on Ali Express for the exact board and see what I can dig up. Thank you again!

Hey Keith, thanks for the explanations of how to use/clean an airbrush.

Well, thought I'd finished the Churchill, however not sure if I felt it needed something extra or just wanted to delay returning to my much delayed & ever growing list of chores :( :haha: :haha:

So I bought a resin figure to modify into a tank commander. It needed a lot of hacking about and was poorly cured, so had liquid resin making a mess & stinking the house out (not well appreciated by CEO@home :{ )

In the end I think it turned out ok

The figure looked a little overscale at first. His scale height was 6', so not too far off, even for 1944. He needed to go on a "scalpel & file" diet to fit in the hatch, comparing with contemporary photos I think he looks in or close to 1/16 scale.
