Looking really good and making good progress on this
Painting inside the light holders with chrome pen/paint really helps the brightness
Also painting the lights with matt black really helps stop light bleed with added advantage it can be scraped off where you want light to show

Such a great looking build. Chassis all straight lines and angular; turret all curves and swoops!

Quite a few updates this weekend. Getting close to finished now.

I did finally get all the convoy lights wired up and working. Green is in the front and red in the rear.

One side of the extra fuel barrels mounted

Barrels fully mounted.

Barrel LED mounted and wired up.

Saw and mounting rails added.

Image

Antenna mount created in the slicer, printed and mounted. Secondary exhaust fan added.

Added the hatch helper springs. The don't interfere with opening the hatches at all. More weld beads added. Replaced some of the fuel filler doors and fain access doors with some that looked more representative of the real ones that I drew up in the slicer.

I've got some additional wiring to do in the mantlet (IR LED and MG LED), the battle system apple mount needs to be added, and then I think this is going off to paint.

That's all for now...

From your progress I keep seeing more of the characteristic of the IS-4. For example, the whole tank, the turret especially is sleek, seemingly aerodynamically designed. The castings must have been huge, dwarfing even the cast turret on a M3 Grant.

You should see how large the IS-7 turret is though in comparison...it's huge.

And the Maus still dwarfs both of them.

Thanks. I'm just glad I'm getting this old project complete. This year is about completing projects. Trying not to start any new ones. The IS-7 is in the running to be finished also.
