presently working on getting 3 units complete so i can post the correct spring to use and to give the best performance using springs we all have on hand
as for the wheels i have a set i made lastyear that are very close to the corect size

This is how the hobby gets better folks! While Mato is working on getting the metal upgrade out to you this may well serve as a viable option.
Bubba, did you also run a sleeve with screws through the road wheels? Running through mulch last night I was able to split the arms apart on the wheel right behind the sprocket. The arms didn't break, just spread apart.
I think by shaving off the fake bolts, inserting a sleeve from arm to arm through the wheel, then washers on each end and a nut and bolt it will hold together real nice. Dab of loctite on the nut and you'll be good to go! What do you think?

Bubbajoe...You have made a great job of making the road wheels work independently of each other on one Bogie assembly. The thing is, I think you have "split" the cast inverted fork that pivots on the spring seat.
That's not taking away your skill and effort on this part. It's just for scale the "inverted fork" or in other words "the inverted V lever" should remain intact and should pivot on the spring seat.
By pivoting on the spring seat it will give independent road wheel movement on any one given Bogie assembly. Just check out Swathdivers reply to your post on RCU. The one where he posted a schematic exploded view of the VVSS Bogie assembly.
I know one or two characters on RCU were stating that you were wrong on this issue. But I always knew you were right and that is that the road wheels can and do work independently of each other.
It's always difficult to stand by your knowledge when other characters are making idiotic assumptions through a lack of basic engineering accumen. Nevertheless you are making great progress with this issue.

Hi All,
Received my Sherman yesterday from Mato, and I have to say, I love it. I don't know what all the Naysayers were crooning about. I am not a rivet counter, so I will not take measurements on the tank ( don't have any refference anyway), But I am impressed with the job they did.
For one, the road wheels have actuale rubber tires. The track is a composite metal and rubbery plastic. The track connector links and teeth are metal with the rubbery plastic sandwhiched in between. Giving an awesome true representation of the actuall track. The gun barrel has an up and DOWN fuction( You do not have to wait for it to cycle like the H and L tanks). The molding is crisp with the real life mold marks and coding plainly visible and the paint job evenly applied ( how can you mess-up an olive drab scheme ). The sound is fantastic and includes the squeaking and creeking of the track links ( there is no smoke, I do miss that ). The controller is not toy like, regardless of the appearence. The right control stick is the typical foreward and reverse, left or right turn. The left stick has the barrel up and DOWN as well as the turret rotation ( It is slow on traversing the turret). You have seperate buttons for start-up, Machinegun and Main gun firing. All in all, I am greatly impressed ( sometimes easily done). It did run smoothly and all accessories operated right out of the box. Given The chance ( Finance Officer : ie the wife, giving the OK, I would gladly order another). I still find all the naysayers comments quit amazing as most had not seen the real model?
I will say one thing about the Sherman. Aftre my wife saw it compared to my German Panther, Tiger I and II and the Jagdpanther, asked why it was so small ( pity the allied tankers, and God bless them).
Hope all will appreciate my critique. I am by no means an authority on the subject, just like tanks. Happy Tanking to All.
