Here is an interesting item though. As I shared earlier Hoobens track is closed pin and has the lightening holes. Now these are a bit pricey for nylon. But people do spend a grip on the Tamiya Nylon tracks-

My Hooben ZTZ has nylon track. It's not near the quality of the Tamiya track IMO.

You guys are mistaken... there was never a $55 Tiger for sale... that $55 is only an add-on option for 360-degree turret on the regularly-priced Tigers... gotta be careful with their drop-down menu ordering system; it can be confusing!
I'd only check the original $68 link I posted for availability, which does work since some of us here have already used it successfully; it's on the 'Half Price' page of the main Hooben shop (or obviously sometimes way less than half-price)

Thaaaat doesn't make sense. A $400+ 360 degree turret? Or a $400+ Turret slip ring? The only thing that stops the turret from rotating 360 degrees is a screw in on one side of the turret ring that hits those micro switches-



I can get it would seem like bait and switch. My question is then why didn't they just ship out a bunch of 360 degree turrets?

I think there's definitely confusion over in Hooben land. But am glad that the $68 Tiger came to fruition for me.

That is because Tamiya Tiger 1 nylon tracks are well worth it. These are 5 year old ones on my Tiger that has many, many hours running outside on dirt, grass,carpet, glacial till, brick, paving stones in all sorts of temps. Yes the cleats are worn off but no more so than on my Taigen Tigers that have had their tracks replaced already (some on their 3rd set) and Tamiya's run on every surface far better than metal tracks. The Tamiya tracks have never split nor had any pin ever walk. Can't say that about Taigen. I bought a spare set back when I first built the tank but have had no need to put them on yet. There has been some stretching but that is easily adjusted. Most people will never have to replace these tracks. When you build up your Tamiya Tiger you will appreciate the quality of them

Agreed that Tamiya tracks are as good as plastic ones get, but has anyone ever fitted metal sprockets to their Tamiya Tiger? I'm hesitant to do so, but would like to have metal tracks on it

Agree that it's very confusing, but my guess is based on a previous purchase attempt (different item) that was foiled by a similar misunderstanding... I could be wrong about this one here, but I could be right just as easily.

Although we both know it's just a matter of a stop screw or a different traverse ring, I've seen crazier asking prices for simpler things.
