Finished....for now
Hi, I got my Walker Bulldog at Christmas and have been doing my best to improve its appearance without any drastic remodeling. I'm still thinking about steel tracks etc but for now I'm happy. Hope you like it and if not... Be kind!

Too clean. Muck it up.
I would go for a jungle rot theme since the main use of the Bulldog
was by the ARVNs during the Vietnam War.

Looks good fine as is to me.
You don’t get wiser as you get older. You just run out of stupid things to do.

Such a tanky-looking tank!
Nice job on the mufflers, especially the aux exhaust. Heat worn but not the crazy rusted look. Subtley done!

Above all (and for me this is no trivial point), I'd like to know how you made the shovel look a bit used, not pristine, but not too much of a veteran. And for that matter, I admire the surgery on the "sky scopes," too. Howdjadoit?

Re: Finished....for now
Thanks for all the comments - I'm going for the 'in training service' look. I was pleased with how the mufflers came out too! The shovel was painted silver then I put humbrol oil wash over the silver. In fact there's a lot of that humbrol wash in many places, along with Tamiya weathering powders and various Vallejo rust colours. Tamiya olive drab is a bit dark compared to the factory colour however a dust over with the lighter powder blends it well. Since the photos I've weathered the tracks too. It's just too tempting to keep improving it especially as the weather has been so awful here lately!

Re: Finished....for now
Almost forgot - the drivers periscopes were simply chopped back with a craft knife so they sit correctly and the cyano'd in place. Very quick and easy! I plan to correct the drivers hatch opening at some point also as it's hinged on the wrong side!
