All Hail The King

Post by TankDriver »

Picked up my first KT from ebay recently... an old Heng Long 1/16 with the original "Porsche turret". What caught my eye on this one: the big speaker, the Clark TK40, magnet closure (very nice), metal tracks, and of course the crazy camouflage paint job

That looks a neat find.
You don’t get wiser as you get older. You just run out of stupid things to do.

Didn't have a controller, but I had 2 extra spots on my Flysky i6S, so it paired quick & easy with one of them and I was off & running.

I like the way the previous owner did the magnet closure conversion... instead of using magnets on both upper & lower halves and then having issues adjusting the space between them (& having one or the other break its epoxy seal & pop itself off while tweaking), this person just glued the bottom ones down real good, then inserted screws into the upper standoff, the heads of which cling to the magnets nicely. That way it's very easy to adjust the space between them with a turn of the screwdriver!
