Re: New member, lots to learn!
By the way.... I cannot see a way to fire the main gun without the MG.. requires both buttons to be pressed. Any way round that?
Thanks in advance....

Re: New member, lots to learn!
My T72 is out of action right now, but I think if you press button B first, then A to fire you don't get the MG sound. But it's been awhile. Do it in reverse (Button A, then B) then you get the machine gun and main gun firing.
And nice work on the periscopes. One of HL's weirdest inaccuracies!

Re: New member, lots to learn!
Thank you for the info - I'll try that tomorrow. I'd researched that weird periscope thing before I knew which tank I was getting... The problem re opening the hatch to access the power switch not being possible with them installed as per the factory stood out. It was easy enough to fix.ColemanCollector wrote: ↑Sat Dec 27, 2025 10:09 pm My T72 is out of action right now, but I think if you press button B first, then A to fire you don't get the MG sound. Well, you have already fixed the 'skyscopes.'
As you likely already know, the strengthening lines on the sides of the toolboxes are also incorrect. Fixing those might be much more challenging. If you do try, I'd like to know how you do it.

Good on you for diving straight in, and fixing things.
You don’t get wiser as you get older. You just run out of stupid things to do.

Re: New member, lots to learn!
Thanks again all; I have painted the exhausts in a rust colour as the bright silver looked daft to my eyes. I've ordered a reference book off of Amazon so I'll try to correct as much as I'm comfortable with. The main colour of the tank looks wrong to me, the ones I see on the internet appear a darker colour, green. If any of you know the colour that would be very useful.
Meantime I'm not doing much today as I've got a miserable head cold!
Cheers, Dave

Tamiya makes "Olive Drab 2" in lacquer, spray bomb or bottle. This may be the post-war color you want. About a decade ago I used it on a 1/35 Tamiya Walker Bulldog.

Some interesting camouflage schemes from some of the South American users if you wanna see what your airbrush can do.
