Well as some of you will remember last Christmas I was fortunate enough to get a Matilda built as the season gift.
So in response I have been printing and building, and swearing and breaking and re-printing this. The type95 ha-go. And here’s where I am so far. Don’t think it will be ready in time but there we go. The thoughts there

Very interesting subject. The first time I ever looked up these tanks was after playing COD World At War where you had to knock 4 of them out

Terrible tank builders--Imperial Japan, not you--but their designs are so organic and intricate. That one looks like it is well worth the recurring nightmares!

I’m just amazed the managed to get a crew in it. As you can see in the photos the Matilda is not a particularly big tank but next to one this thing looks tiny

Exhibitedbrute, I have a phrase so explain how much I approve of your creating a Type 95 HA-Go: truly admirable.

This particular is the design of the much respected designer around these parts. Inkor. The tank itself as you can see is quite small, but have build the hull I think it would be big enough to run on a Clark’s board, the turret rotation etc works on servos so you would need 2 standard for elevation and recoil and 1 continuous for traverse. For your gearboxes you will need some tamiya 1/35 gearboxes which need to be built in the casings that are printed with the tank.
The suspension. The springs pictured seem mostly for show as the bulk of the suspension travel seems to work on a pivot system.
Batteries and smoker.
Looking at the exhaust position a smoker could be fitted in the front half of the tank. My suggestion would be to cut the piston off a Torro smoker and install a small laptop fan. It would be a single pipe exhaust. A small lipo battery could be used similar in size as to what the Stuart uses, it would be possible to build a shelf/holder in the top half and rear of the tank
