Recoil barrel
Re: Recoil barrel
Talk to Casey "Shameless,,,", he has 3 Jagdtigers IIRC. I'm sure he could share some information. And he's a good guy I know from the Facebook RC tank groups-Jofaur86 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 4:09 pmHello, I have a question please, regarding the barrel movement on a Jagdtiger? How much does it recoil when firing (1/16 scale)? Is this to adjust the barrel length for the recoil mechanism? Because it's been cut twice, twice too short
Thank you in advance and Merry Christmas.

Re: Recoil barrel
Mine recoils approximately 10mm. But that's just me using a ruler and my eyes so not totally accurate to the mm

Re: Recoil barrel
According to sources on the gun, 32.5mm of recoil is the 16th scale recoil travel required.
The hydro-pneumatic system was able to be varied on the towed weapon to allow for different ammo, but the gun fitted to the JT was apparently set to recoil 520mm .
When I saw 331 in Aberdeen Proving Ground the barrel was(and is) in full battery. The entire thing was rammed back into the cradle when the recouperators were drained & the gun fired. Some plastic Models have been miss represented due to this , the Mattoro version also suffered the error.
