Re: sherman
Hi bubbajoexx .What a BUMMER waited all year for this and then we find out its not what we were told it was going to be .Very very disappointed ,they have probably kept the tracks big so they can use the Pershing tracks ,as for the suspension units very upset waited till now to find they dont even work (look like Bandai stug IV fittings )which are crap but can be changed) ,as for the turret they should have used the Tamiya turret and put a 75mm gun with mantle to suit ,So basicly it has crap gearboxes ,crap suspension ,crap electrics ,crap tracks ,crap turret ,Even the hull looks wrong ,is there anything we can use on this tank ?
Suppose we will have to wait for aftermarket upgrades and investigate wether these could be used to convert the Tamiya suspension and hope someone makes the correct tracks .(Anyone making a SCALE metal working V.V.S.S. suspension system and tracks and sprocket that fits the Tamiya will make a small fortune)
They could have made a fortune if they had done it right as it is all they will do is put people off buy any of there tanks ,I was going to buy quite a few if they were good but wont be buying any now ,the price of second hand Tamiya Shermans will go up again just when they were falling .
regards pete
Thank You Bubbajoexx for saving me alot of money and sorry it has cost you alot to find this out maybe you could convert it into something that you may be able to sell .

Re: sherman
As Brel said the gearbox cover at the front is too long and sticks out further than the tracks the sherman never done this. That will be to fit the crappy gears in I think I will give this a miss a pity we have waited all year for this.

Re: sherman
What a bummer, I have been waiting for this for months. A million thanks for the review, I for one really appreciate it.
Didn't I read somewhere months ago that Swathdiver designed the suspension for them? He never mentioned that it would just be moulded?
If the lower hull had been better then we could have just dropped a Tamiya upper on there, but you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, as they say.
I just sold my Jagdpanther in anticipation of buying this....aaaarghh!

Re: sherman
I may be being stupid here, are HL also bringing out a Sherman, or was that confusion with this one coming out. Also if HL do bring out a Sherman will it be the same tank re-boxed?bubbajoexx wrote:ITS CALLED REBOXING SOMEONE ELTSE MAKES IT THEN THEY PUT IT INTO THERE OWN BOX AND MATORRO IS AN ACRONIM MATO AND TORRO COMBINEDMatdragon wrote:shame really,

cheers,

Sorry if this has been answered in a previous post, but I get confused easily (getting old now).

Re: sherman
The Gearbox cover isn't a problem (we could see that was out when the first pictures appeared). It shouldn't be too hard to fix.
My only real concern is the oversized suspension. I think making it work properly will be doable but it may take some serious scratch building.

Re: sherman
Having just been to the other forum (VERY lively debate going on there as you would expect...our U.S. cousins were waiting for this one), and I came back here to ask the same question as Dave.
Swath designed some suspension units, but was that for Mato or HL?
One would have assumed that HL would install an RX18, and their standard gearbox design, this one looks horrible.
Given the advances that HL have made in their products in recent months...is there a higher quality Sherman waiting in the wings, after the new Panther?
