Metal wing nuts
Just thought I would provide some information aa to a source of metal wing nuts for anyone who might be interested. Schumo sold by Axels modellbau shop has metal wing nuts. These are the same nuts as provided in their tow and cleaning rod brackets kits for Tiger 1 and a KT..They measure 4.3 mm across. Knupfer model has five different wing nuts available, some of these can be made fully workable with the tap and tools they available .Two of the type they offer have the same measurement across as the Schumo .Aber wing nuts are quite small plus one of their options is to glue two pieces together to make one wing nut. No thanks.

Re: Metal wing nuts
If you chase the thread on a Schumo wing nut assembly with a tap and dye set you can kid yourself you have a working wing nut when all you have is a screw turned not by a screwhead but a wing nut shaped head,
Using the correct ABER Wing Nut set you have a working alternative albeit an expensive one,
Time was you could buy a bag of 100 plus loose wing nuts from a dealer in Singapore for not much money but I have no idea if they are still trading.

I think I am about to upset someone

Re: Metal wing nuts
Yeap Jarndice Aber also offer a pack of 10 working wing nuts but as you say ,expensive. and not the size I need. Having alternative sizes available from Knupfer is great ,not being 3d printed or made of plastic. It also comes down to cost.I just made a order from them. 18 euro, Germany to New Zealand. Same size package from Axels, Germany 60 euro.
