I think that it was common; if all your tanks are fighting in the same environment, why wouldn't they have similar camouflage? With unavoidable differences of course, since it's all done by hand in the field.
I've seen better examples than this but here's a photo of S32 in the foreground of a number of other Tigers from Das Reich; you can see that the ones in the distance are sporting a similar camouflage style
