ahh is the collar part of the brake and not on the models barrel ?

The collar apparently was just a stop gap until the muzzle brake was developed. But the interesting WW2 ones tgat I would want to do didn't have the muzzle brake

Yes. Just like all the cool Panther camos I wanted to do were Panther A when every manufacturer just made G's and a Panther A conversion is very complicated if you want to do the torsion bars in the right place

I have done one that doesn’t have the muzzle break or the rim based on photos of the Sherman 76w in the Ardennes

So did you just leave the rim off. If there were examples of that it certainly simplifies things

They look better as an ISherman, M50 or M51.
