Hmmmm, I think I've been inadvertantly using a product called anti-anti-flux for years--the solder goes where you don't want it and magically flows away from joints.

This is an interesting thread as I've never tried solder paste, and if anti-flux performs well, it will reduce frustration immensely!

 "Anti-Flux": I'm going to try it, since I have nothing against it. :haha: I see that Tix is a common brand.

All we need now is a wider choice of 1/16 Etch Kits. I have done the Kt, tiger 1, Panther, 38T and Panzer I etch sets. I have even tried to made my own etch sets, so far with no success. It is possible to kit bash some etch sets for other vehicles eg 38T kit for the Hetzer.

I would love an etched mudguards set for the Elefant, a Panzer II kit would be nice. I am surprised no one has done a Panzer/stug III etch set to compliment the excellent new kits.

I suggest you have a look at Abers catalogue noting everything with a "16" prefix go to ---
www.abermodels.com/product,
There is another company who speciailise in PE "Voyager" but they have a much more restricted range of "1/16" PE they are simpler and cheaper,
Dave @
www.forgebeartanks.com
used to hold some Voyager stock as well as a full stock of Aber and if you ask him he will give good advice on the product.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Thank you for that, however I only Model WWII German Armour and I am aware of both the Aber and Voyager Catalogues. I regularly scour the auction sites looking for bargains, only today I found an Aber 16050 set for a Mid Tiger cheap, so I might renovate my mid Tamiya Mid Tiger 1.

There some other firms that do interesting 1/16 etch stuff The firm RADO do some paint stencils for German Armour as well as etch pieces for figures.
A while back somebody was doing a Panzer I Ausf A set which I managed to snag. I even widen my search to other modeling branches, only this week I found that a R/C model submarine etch parts supplier did a 1/16 enigma machine, which would look really good in the back of a command version 251.

My only hope is to crack doing photo etch myself. I have been a year trying to make a photo etch set for a 1/16 Marder I (Lorraine) so far with success, but hopefully next summer I will crack it.

I use liquid solder and a Butane torch, Dremel sells one, with a paint brush you just align the 2 pieces and paint the liquid solder along the join then wipe the torch across the solder.
