Re: Torro tank being weird
Recently got the tank back from Herman to which it now runs well, with me now having a slightly better idea of what im doing!, however my tank DOES have a smoker but i have no idea how to plug it in or get it to work. Herman Bix has said by plugging it into the smoker unit on the board it does work. Currently i have it all plugged in EXCEPT the barrel smoker. I recently bought this to so any ideas on how to get it to work i will appreciate.
https://www.rctank.de/Taigen-servo-and- ... cuit-board
I am wondering but, would i need to buy a different board as this mentions control of the smoker/raise and lower system but there is no mention of being able to run the BB system. If you want i have a diagram i made myself for the tagien board in my tank as it is cursed so just ask me for that if you want it.
Here are some images doubt they will help but:
EDIT
Unscrewed the turret, took a look in and all the wires and i have decided to just go without the smoke...... i do want it to work but it is to much of a pain screwing with stuff in the turret with the BB system taking up all the space and i already know im going to brake somthing i cant afford, i am considering buying a Heng Long tank now but not to sure yet. If anyone has any idea how to setup the barrel smoke PLEASE contact me!

I can walk you through it on here but only if you can provide some better pictures.
First of all, take a really good look at MrChef’s pictures, your set up should be very similar if not the same.
The hardest and scariest part is that because you are trying to retain Airsoft functionality, you will need to drill a hole into the Airsoft unit so that you have a single hole that opens into the inside of the barrel past the Airsoft plunger. You will also need a little pneumatic bit that is a barb on one side and a male threaded nipple on the other. If you are unwilling to take a drill to your Airsoft unit then just stop right here, and learn to live without gunsmoke, or convert your tank to and IR/flash barrel recoil mechanism.
You’re going to need to open up your turret and take a few pictures so I can see what is going on in there.
In theory, the smoke board will plug into the daughterboard that is already in the turret. The heater for the smoke unit will plug into one of the two 2 pin JST plugs and the air pump will plug into the other one. It usually will say which is which on the board. If it doesn’t and there are no instructions, if you have the smoke board plugged in to the daughter board and the power turned on and a multimeter on hand, the 2 pin JST plug that continuously receives power will be the one that the heater plugs into. Probably if you look at MrChefs pictures closely you will be able to see which is which.
Here is the video I did on this, and while the electronic board I use is different from yours, they essentially function the same, and the installation technique is the same.

I feel like i might just go without the smoke for now...... drilling holes into my brand new tank is very worrying........Jib wrote: ↑Thu Oct 16, 2025 11:44 pm I can walk you through it on here but only if you can provide some better pictures.

Re: Torro tank being weird
It just keeps getting better....... i noticed when i first got the tank that the gearbox was very wiggly, i assumed that was normal and kept using it. I was working on the gearbox when i noticed that it was elevated and though that was strange, so i pushed down on it and heard a really bad cracking noise. I assumed i broke somthing but to my suprise it became perfectly lined up and lost the wiggling until i bumped it. I also noticed 2 screw holes under the gearbox with no screw in them but it magically line up with the 2 screwless holes on the bottom, i put screw in both of them and all the noises and issues (except squeaking and metal gear noises) had stopped. I do think this is VERY good experince as so far i know how to dissamble the tank and then rebuild it now.

You can notice here the gearbox is not level and on a incline.

Those 2 blue arrows are were i screwed in the screw, i only had black hex screw's available.

Re: Torro tank being weird
Dam it didnt work with the images, well all you need to know is that either Panzer.de or Torro gave me a tank with a gearbox that wasnt screwed in properly and resulted in the motor cable being torn which i soldered up. I feel like i keep getting REALLY unlucky with this tank i keep finding stuff missing and faults.

Re: Torro tank being weird
Hmm, thats odd. I went over all the gearbox fasteners, all present but did require tightening.
I had the tracks off it too, to make it easier to look at & manipulate.
My hit prediction is that the 360 turret rotation is actually permitting displacement of cables or pressure on cables by battery changes etc, just use, that could contribute to this damage to the motor cables.
Certainly is a strange plague of hassles.

Re: Torro tank being weird
That is exactly what i though to but the fact 2 screw were missing holding the gearbox down and when i was testing it without the hull on when driving forward the gearbox would stay flat as it was forcing it down but when reversing the gearbox would try to go up and snap the wires, and yes the entire structure for the gearbox wasnt held down. This was after the snapping of the wire occured i was testing it on a elevated surface with the 1 remaining functioning motor. I private messaged you the images Herman as well.

Re: Torro tank being weird
Remeber that motor i mentioned that was making a funny noise, it has started to die unfortunately. The noise i mentioned is MUCH louder now and now when i drive the tank it moves to the left wildly until the dieing motor catches up, and when it comes to stopping again it veers to the left. It has also moslty lost its low speed control as it just stutters. I am slowly losing it at this cursed Torro thing.

Re: Torro tank being weird
Are you sure the trim has not been upset at some point?
The small knob on the top of the Transmitter on the right side . That will track the tank to one side is its been moved.
I dont get it, that thing is a good as it could be when I sent it back.

Re: Torro tank being weird
I visually see the tanks left side stutter at lower speeds, i have already elevated tank and tested it.
