Kettenkrad with Goliath

Post by Rob59 »

Hello fellows.
Bought this kit at Ali, about 2 years ago.
Made a start with the Goliath, but mounting the tracks was a huge PITA, couldn‘t get it done properly.
So I had to put it aside and went on with one of my other projects.
Now I have finished my Winter StuG, it was time for the Goliath again.
With some patience…….I managed to get the tracks on…..not perfect thow….but okay for now.
Also fixed its carrier.

As these Goliaths were remote controlled (by wire) demolition vehicles, I added a belt onto the controller.
Made it out of 1mm solder which I flattened with a small hammer.
Now the operator can hang the controler around his neck during the attack

And at the moment, the controller is laying at the back of the Goliath upon the wire.
The wire is not connected to the controller yet, just to be sure nothing can be blown up yet…

I also have a driver for the Kettenkrad.

Good Morning, Rob!
Deluxe Paintjobs Sir! I like the strap made out of hammered solder. I watched the Fellows down in Oz at the Tank Museum there reconstruct the Tracks on a Goliath for Display. Looked dicey at 1\1 scale. Tough for the Heer to find a Balance between something durable enough to trundle along over open ground in all sorts of weather then be Blown Up!

Painless

What a great diorama in itself the pair make. I must remember the hammered solder trick. I so admire clever use of materials for their unintended purposes.

Some great modeling Rob  I always love your work and painting of figures. You've got more talent and patience than I can muster to work on the small details.
