LiPo balanced charging - question on correct wiring

Post by Tanker929 »

Total noob on the LiPo front here. I have batteries, I have a balancing charger, I have connector conversion parts, I have a Charging Board Balance Charger Expansion ... but I'm afraid if I do something wrong I'm gonna blow up my house or at least burn it down. There's a downside to watching too many Youtube videos's I guess. So here goes:

In order to charge this 2 cell bad boy this would be my setup:

Correct I hope?

The next one is trickier: a 3 cell battery with an XT30 connector. I don't have a XT60/XT30 convertor (yet) but I do have an XT30 Charging Board Balance Charger Expansion. I probably didn't even fully realise what I was buying at the time but now I'm thinking this should work:

Or should I do it like this? That's just akward wiring so I'm guessing not.

For your 3s battery it looks like you can do it either way so i think you can do it whats easy for you
Your 2s is spot on how its connected
When you do charge your lipos just make sure you select ballance charge as that will get all the cells of the battery to correct voltage
Cheers

Your set up looks good either way. (The charger may even tell you of a misconnection when you start it. Mine does so.) I always use a battery charging safety bag with LiPo or LiIon batteries. I got mine at a hobby store, but they are available online from lots of places.

I have one and I'll use it. Thx!

Most chargers will tell you if it’s wrong and won’t charge
It’s your tank it’s what you make it
