Good Evening all!
This afternoon was mount the new rear Convoy light hour...Three hours later, I had managed to break one of the original mud flaps and undo the idler repair and loosen a few road wheels as well. I had replacement mudflaps so I primed and painted one up and drilled the hole's for the brad. Letting that cure, I redid the idler repair and reset the loose roadwheels. The mount for the Convoy light was made up out of brass (a little flimsy this time around but it worked) and the wire was routed down the track guard to opposite the MFU. (I will solder that onto a plug this week) The Mount was glued into place and the replacement mudflap pinned back onto the lower. Enough for the evening.

Good Morning, Ecam,
Thanks for having a Look-See. This Tanks Lower and Upper are old Heng Long plastic. It has retained it's rigidity and flex for the most part. Smaller parts have gotten brittle ( mudflaps, etc.) at attachment points I am not attempting a lot of removal and am cleaning up and repainting in situ of these parts. ( Except when I break them ;0) It is all coming together. Once the Convoy light has a plug, I should be able to test everything electrical again and put it back together. I can move on to the new King Tiger then. Once that is detailed and the paint completed, I can paint the figures and weather the Tanks. Aside from the Pershing I redid a few years back, this is my oldest Tank refurbed to date.

I think you're stoking my fires with the refurb as I'm planning to redux my first tank as well.

I love following along, she's looking great. So much so that I want to do an initial KT turret tank as well

Good Afternoon, Alan!
I had gotten out my set of blades for chiseling plastic when I saw that, due to the ATAK, they would not work. I resorted to using a small hobby file to flatten out the plastic molded Convoy light until it was level with the ATAK. This made a nice mounting surface for the brass mount and new light. ....MrChef! There's nothing like making something cherished for years into something new to be enjoyed. Best of Old and New! Looking forward to seeing you redo one of your favorites!

P.S. Alan, I kept the two small molded on bolts at the base of that plastic mount. They made the Brass one that I made up look better. ;0)

Good Evening,
Tonight went vastly better as a lot of small detail was handled on the way to soldering and final detail painting.
Chipped bucket was primed and repainted (from last night) Brass fasteners were added to the new Convoy light. The antenna\aerial connection was reconnected. New sliders were set into the turret ring. Lastly, the exhausts were smoothed and the anti grenade measure added. Enough for one evening!

So that's the purpose of the rod through the exhaust end! I see, too, Painless, that a bucket on each Tiger is required. I have one or two metal buckets, but I will need more.
