I find that rub-on transfers, used correctly, cannot be distinguished from painted markings, except, perhaps, that they are even crisper in outline. The only truly better means is inaccessible to most of us without oodles of pounds sterling/dollars/yuan/etc.: "pad printing" (actually now using sophisticated paint printers). Those can be so clear as to make 1/16 warning labels legible with magnification.
The problem with HengLong and Torro/Taigen transfers is usually inaccuracy or anachronism. From what I can tell transfers are reasonably accurate. However, I do not pretend to any expertise on the accuracy of the markings, only what I can find in my book(s).
Ahh ok thx mate
ive never done railway models so Ive learnt something new

I have noticed theres 2 handles missing tho
1 from the removable bit over the smoker filler and on same part on opposite side
there are spare handles on the sprues but they are wrong size ( quite a few extra bits on sprues )
will make a couple out of wire or hunt through the spares box
Ohh i had to cut a bit of the filler tube as well as it gets kinked when top hull is attached

I noticed the same thing with the handles on the rear deck. I made them out of some metal wire. It's funny that they drilled the holes for the handles, but didn't actually include them.

Did some dusting up of the Crusader using the Tamiya weathering pigments
I found using a paint brush and dry brushing it onto the tank gave a nice effect i also scraped some of the little tablet in the box and used it wet for various bits (and Elsa the works supervisor inspecting the work)
Anyway enough waffle and heres the pics

Painless: a suggestion: pop over to the Crusader Support Group pages viewtopic.php?p=377389&hilit=Crusader#p377389. Maybe you could add in your photos and explain exactly which of the Tamiya Weathering Powders you used: such as "I used the Tamiya Sand and Light Sand Weathering Powders." maybe adding that sentence before "I applied the powders with a paint brush and dry brushing to create a nice effect. I also scraped some of the little tablet in the box and used it wet for various bits."
