Hello all
Hello all
Hello everyone,
I'm Wim from the Netherlands, I'm a full time caregiver for my wife with MS so i have some time on my hands to do something for myself. I did some 1/35 modeling back in the day.
I want to start with some bigger scale in RC, and i am slowly researching where to start and this is why i came across this forum.
Greetings Wim.

Hi Hasta .Welcome to the forum. Take your time to view all the information on maybe the tank and the brand of tank you are interested in before making a purchase. This forum can save you a lot of heart ache and money with the builds that are already present here. Happy tanking.

Re: Hello all
Welcome Hasta. I know when I started the 16th scale RC tanks about 15 years ago I found it incredibly fun. I too modeled 48th, 35th and 25th scales in my youth, but working on such a large "canvas" gave new opportunities for details that were unavailable in the 1/35 armor. The fact that they were RC was an added bonus. And while not a kit the Heng Long RTR (ready to run) has been my favorite to work with. They are among the less expensive and when taken completely apart for reworking they still have a model kit feel (to me at least). Tamiya, Hooben and a couple others are large model kits with RC parts included or available. Do check out the forum's build sections located here: viewforum.php?f=6 and ask any questions. Darn few of us here "bite".
Again welcome aboard!

Re: Hello all
Welcome Wim. Hello from Argyll and Bute. Holland is a beautiful country with some lovely, tolerant people. It is one country I would like to live in. For a first tank. I recommend Sherman, T34, and if you have no other choice, a Tiger. All are good tanks, for a beginner, with plenty of support.
Welkom Wim.

Re: Hello all
Hello, Hasta (Wim)! "I'm a full time caregiver for my wife." Bravo! I second Meter Rat's advice and Ecam's welcoming words. Please keep us informed and you sure are welcome to join in the fun. When my late wife was declining to Alzheimer's, an Australian RC tank list and, later, RCTW helped me through each day.
