I know many would find me odd, but tug boats are my favorite type: they are like water bound tractors, unsung heroes, chug-a-chug!

Me too Doc. Can't explain why...
Took a cruise YEARS ago and a month later when the film was developed I was asked "where did all the tug boat pictures come from"...
How long are those Hobby Engine Southamptons? When I was looking, tug kits were either small or HUGE.

Re: Wyeforce
That's about the right size. Seems that when I was looking a while back most topped out at 16-18" or you could get the Miss Darby (?) a huge monter of a ship powered by car batteries.Stormbringer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 11:41 am Its about 24-26" long and works out about 1/35 scale if i remember right

Re: Wyeforce
Did a quick google search on it and its 36th scale
When i got my 1 it was £150 and it comes with metal propshafts , brass props and rudders and is quite detailed
Its based on the old Graupner Wyeforce
heres a vid on upgrading it

Re: Wyeforce
Thanks Alan, when I catch up on tank projects I may look again at the boat projects (but I do have a 16th LCT Mk4 planned too).

Re: Wyeforce
I don't have a tugboat, but I did print an LCM3 landing craft. I still need to buy all the motors and electronics to make it run. I may just use one of my unused HL 7.0 boards to run it.
