Thanks gents - I appreciate the comments.

In the movie, they show the crew using a sun compass.

So I made one.

Then the Trasped pioneer tools were weathered and added.

I also had a play around with the stowage layout. Just need a driver...

That last picture above... With an appropriate back ground it would be hard to distinguish from a full size Jeep (and we watched you build it). What a fun thread to read/see (I have a few times)!

Thank you guys. Eric, Alan and ..... 'Bixie', as a builder you cannot ask for better praise. If people think it looks convincing and they go through your thread a few times, that is heartening!

The tires are the perfect level of desert dirty. Nice dusty sidewalls and in between the treads. Plus the three glovebox shift/transfer/ID plates for a nice detail touch. Stellar!

Estnische!
Now, This is the Stuff! Detail enough to please any Hobbyist Devils Rivet Counting Heart! The Parts you have built wholesale out of materials and metal add stark scale realism. Looking forward to seeing the Driver that you select for this Masterpiece.

Estnische, did you ever see or hear of the corny old TV program, "The Rat Patrol" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rat_Patrol)? I remember laughing at it as a youngster, seeing the wrong vehicles, etc. They needed you and your great modeling! (I also remember a cheap plastic toy, maybe called The Rat Patrol. All I remember of it were the plastic sand dunes! Yeah! Cool!) :D

Yes Herr Doktor, we got it and "Combat!" too. I found some Rat Patrol episodes in Youtube - doesn't bear watching nowadays.

But I would love to see someone do Clint Eastwood's jeep from Kelly's Heroes and use gold foil to make the glistening ingots stashed in the back.
