Thanks Herr Dr - I had a look at them, the heads are really useful. But the way they are price packaged, would be more expensive than I am prepared to expend on this project. I'll compromise to Afrika Korps.

Re: Play Dirty Movie Jeep
The build is looking sweet! Nice chipping and wear on the tub.
One suggestion if I may--the gearshift and transfer case levers that Takom supplies are really thick. On the real deal they were thin and almost delicate looking. Gives it a toy-like appearance that is at odds with your nice paintwork and detailing.
Mike.

Mike - you are absolutely correct - I cannot fix all of its faults, but that is a good pick up and well-worth correcting. Here is the jeep I have access to for reference.

I'll go down to the museum and measure the levers and off to the local hobby shop I'll go to get some brass rod.

These are the thickness measurements from a '42 GPW if they help you out.

Well there you go! I perceived that the shorter levers were thinner. There is not much in it, certainly in 1/14 scale terms.
Thanks for your efforts - good to see you speak metric too LOL.

I think I was in Grade 6 or 7 when Canada went metric. It was an easy transition for kids, but many adults had a tough time, no thanks to the many conversion "tricks" the government promoted to make things more palatable. Just confused things for awhile.
The transfer case levers are stocky looking compared to that skinny tallboy gear shift lever!

Re: Play Dirty Movie Jeep
The original front seats screamed ‘plastic’, so I decided to give them a make-over.

I used our museum’s Jeep as a reference and played with some khaki colours. I will touch them up a bit with more pigment to get them grubbier. To mimic the movie vehicle, I have deleted the rear seat that doubles as the battery cover.

The exhaust was originally body coloured, so I made it look more used. Needs some matt clear to take away the shine you see here.
