Nothing working after writing to TCB

Post by Gmhgq »

Hi All
Not having any luck ATM with getting TCB to work.
Story so far
Using a Flysky FS i6X radio with FS-IA6B receiver. I have connected via i-bus (top pins). i-bus is selected in radio settings.
have set up everything on Op-config as shown in wiki, all functions/switches are showing that they are working in Op config,
I have written the data to the TCB which shows upload complete.
I have nothing working at all, LED's on TCB are flashing( which I need to understand a little more) I will add that while connected to PC, Red LED is solid & Green flashes slowly which I believe is Correct??
Question. should both ESC's have power wire removed(which I have done)????
I believe I have connected everything correctly as shown in wiki
Am I missing something???
:'( :'(

I depends on the ESC. I have one ESC that supplies power to whatever you plug the servo plug into, so I removed the red cable from that. I have another ESC that needs power supplied to it, so I left the red cable in there.

What happens when you do snoop? Does it show the engine starting? Do you still get traverse and elevation?

In my model I have it set to “turn the engine on” with a toggle switch. So it will not drive unless I hit that switch and then go through the start up sound. However, traverse and elevation still work without the engine being on.

Maybe post some pictures if you’re settings and also output from snoop and maybe we can figure out what’s going wrong. I just went through all of this not too long ago, so it is still kind of fresh in my memory.

Pardon this intrusion. "ATM...TCB...FS i6X...FS-IA6B...bus...Op config...LED...PC...ESC." These posts would have been great examples for one of my linguistics classes. I often had to try to get students to understand that "jargon" has its proper place, is not bad, but is appropriate and clear when the people communicating have knowledge of the field--as in this case between Gmhgq and Jib. Ah, memories of teaching at the U...

Hi,
As Above....Asign an engine start / Stop.
I dont believe you get turret rotation or elevation in snoop nor does it show it functioning, it only works when snoop or the TCB is disconnected from the PC when using the PC as a power source. ( IE cable plugged in for voltage but not connected on the OP.)
In snoop mode you should see things like engine start, moving forwards etc and cannon fire, MG etc etc.

When you say that "all functions/switches are showing that they are working in OP Config," I presume you mean that when you perform the Radio Setup routine, you can move the sticks/switches on your transmitter and see those movements in OP Config? If so that is good.

As I mentioned in your other thread, yes, when OP Config has connected to the TCB, the Red LED will be solid and the Green LED will flash slowly. That is normal.

You say that in normal operation the LEDs on the TCB are flashing (green and red alternating quickly). That indicates that the TCB is waiting to detect your receiver.

Yes, you should remove the power wires from both your ESCs.

Anyway, you have gotten some good advice from the other users. The TCB won't do anything until you assign it something to do. This is done on the Functions tab of OP Config. At the very least you need to assign a function to start the engine, so you can begin driving.

As Sub and Jib have recommended, and as I also recommended in your other thread, please try a Snoop connection and see what messages you get from the TCB.
