Question about the pictures in the "Show off in Black & White " forum

Post by michaelwhittmann »

The pictures in "Black & White" are great and appreciated. But.........

None of them seem to have to 2 color or 3 color camo patterns that some of us (me included)
work hard to create.

These swirls of different camo colors we create are great to look at but are they realistic?

Ok that's off my chest; I feel better. 8)

My Panther G's and Jagdpanther threads are of tanks that are very much tri-colour as are a lot of the Tigers. The subtle difference in tones you see in the WW2 black and white photos is what we are actually trying to emulate. There are a lot of desert camo and Soviet pics so obviously you aren't going to see tri-colour on those images

My T72 is four colours. But change it to black and white, it only looks to be two colours. It accentuates the difference between the very light grey, and the green. The black and brown disappears.

Even, an original black and white photo does not really show the difference between the camouflage.

Very good Mr.Chef!
Nothing wrong with your eyes haha!

About black/white pics.
Go to the site: world war photos
On there you can choose the country (Germany),and than you choose tanks.
A list shows up, with all kind of German armor and you can choose Tiger 1 for instance.
Lots of black/white pics.
Have fun!
Rob.

That Tiger is a K.G. Fehrmann / Schulze machine. There is also a symmetrical shape on the lower front glacis that has been the subject of much discussion over the years.
