Part 1 of this Dual Build has taken way too long due to ongoing Health issues. Getting to the point now of seeing some light at the end of the Tunnel. Part 2 Detailing and working out a paint scheme on the new HL King Tiger will take a lot less time. (No Paint Mule to build, etc...) Looking forward to other Projects after this Dual Build is completed.

Painless: I have a few Taigen/Torro tanks in their original paint. The challenge I find is matching paint for details. For a while Torro actually sold the paints they claim match the paint on their tanks from China. I now wish I had bought some. Nowadays they sell Mig Ammo. Of course, here in the U.S. we can still get paints from Spain, right? maybe...?

Taigen or Imex in Florida still has some paint left but it's over priced and Taigen has just let their inventory dwindle in the last 18 months or so with no show of restock

I've found it easier to color match the last Torro to Tamiya XF's.

Herr Dr., that is a very Good question. Lets see...I found Mega Hobby in Magnolia, NJ that carries the complete Mig Ammo line. https://www.megahobby.com/ Also I see Spray Gunner in Oldsmar, FL at https://spraygunner.com/collections/ammo-by-mig-paints
So there are some options available. For a fan of the Model Master line like myself however, those days are past. The new paints by Testor are Ok but I find myself resorting to Tamiya and even those are just not the same thing.

Mr.Wolf, I've had decent experience with Megahobby but be aware of their free shipping clause, had to speak to a human on the phone to actually get free shipping both times I ordered as their shipping program wouldn't recognize my location.

As far as I know, these Taigen colors are no colors from the usual brands like Tamiya, Valejo, MIG or whatever.
If you want a match, you must mix it yourself.
Remember I asked Dom from RcTank.de about it, years ago, he told me the same.
Tamiya colors however, do match some of the Heng Long colors.
On my El Cheapo HL Jagdpanther, I added homemade Schürzen which I painted in Nato Green with Nato Brown, which hardly shows any difference!
For the DG I had to mix Buff with Flesh.
Not a 100% match but with some Wash it was okay for me!

Thank you for the Great Info on locales for Paint and what will work Best for both Taigen\ Torro and Heng Long! Herr Doc and myself along with everyone out there scratching our collective heads on how to color match Tanks from an Asian Factory will Benefit!

Good Afternoon!
I had a spare hour today while the Spouse Streamed some Games. I got out the paints and brushes and finished touching up the sprockets, idlers and road wheels. I did not make it onto the overlooked Zimmerit on the turret and upper hull and new parts on the lower. I will try to get to those tommorow!. Also, I received a surprise today! A shirt depicting the current Build finally showed up five months after purchase. Patience is key I guess in today's business and societal weirdity.

Good Advice, John! Thanks, Doc! Alan! Thanks for looking in! I had read or someone said somewhere that the metal road wheels on the early King Tigers had rubber rims. ( I was sure that that this was meant as the rubber pad between the outer bolt on plate and the weight bearing metal rim but hey! I can be wrong ) I went to look for this on images of the King Tiger displayed at Bovington. All Production King Tigers should have shared the same Chassis and Running Gear. Henschel Version...None were built with the Porsche Electric Drive Chassis that I am aware of. Looking closely at many images of the Tank from the last few years, the rims of the road wheels look dark but this could be from wear or cleaning by the Museum Staff. I'm just going to do as I normally do with late war Road Wheels and let running the Tank take the polish off of the shiny metal rims. ( Image from Jagdtiger Build )
